Using the Kuata App
Using the Kuata App
This guide covers the core features of the Kuata app — managing your identity documents, making payments, and navigating the main screens.
2.1 Home Screen Overview
Area | Description |
Identity Card | Tap to view your verified digital identity; swipe to see other documents |
Balance | Current wallet balance; tap to see recent transactions |
Quick Actions | Send Money · Pay Bills · Add Document · Scan QR |
Notifications | Activity feed: verifications, payments, and security alerts |
Navigation Bar | Home · Documents · Payments · Akili (Pro) · Settings |
2.2 Managing Documents
Viewing a Document
Tap Documents in the navigation bar and select any stored document to view its full details, verification status, and last verified date.
Adding a Document
1. Go to Documents → Add document.
2. Select the document type from the list.
3. Follow the scanning prompts — hold the document flat, in good light, fully in the frame.
4. Kuata submits the document details to the relevant national registry for verification (10–60 seconds).
5. Once verified, the document appears in your wallet with a verification badge.
Sharing a Document via QR
6. Open the document you want to share.
7. Tap Share → Generate QR Code.
8. A consent prompt appears — confirm the purpose shown (e.g., "Age verification at merchant").
9. The verifier scans the QR code with the Kuata Verifier app or their institution's scanner.
10. The verifier sees only a pass/fail result — never your personal data.
Note: Each QR code is single-use by default. For recurring share contexts, tap Allow multiple scans before generating. |
2.3 Payments
Sending Money
11. Tap Send Money from the Home screen.
12. Enter the recipient's phone number or scan their personal QR code.
13. Enter the amount in local currency.
14. Review the transaction summary and fee.
15. Confirm with your PIN or biometrics.
Paying Bills
16. Tap Pay Bills from the Home screen.
17. Select the service provider from the list.
18. Enter your account or contract number.
19. Enter the payment amount.
20. Confirm with PIN or biometrics.
Receiving Money
Share your Kuata phone number or tap Receive on the Home screen to display your personal QR code. Senders do not need to be Kuata users — they can transfer from any connected bank account via the local payment network.
2.4 Transaction History
Go to Payments → History to view all past transactions. You can:
• Filter by date, type (send/receive/bill), and status
• Tap any transaction to view full details and receipt
• Download a PDF receipt for expense reporting
• Report an issue directly from a transaction record
2.5 Verification Audit Trail
Kuata keeps an immutable, user-visible log of every time your identity has been verified. Go to Documents → Verification History to see:
• Date and time of each verification
• Which organisation or application requested the verification
• The document type verified
• The result (pass / fail / cancelled)
You can revoke future verification access for any organisation directly from this screen.
